By the time you read this, thirty-nine volumes of The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories will have been published. The contents help satisfy the appetite of the many who want more than the sixty canonical accounts, and the royalties have so far raised over £80,000 for Undershaw, the house that Conan Doyle built for himself and his family, now an outstanding school for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
An Investees’ Anthology stands outside the numbered sequence. All but a couple of the stories, verses and forewords are reprinted from earlier volumes and all — of course! — are the work of true Holmes devotees, among them David Stuart Davies, Lyndsay Faye, Sonia Fetherston, Jayantika Ganguly, Bonnie MacBird, Christopher Redmond and Nicholas Utechin. Need I say more?
