The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate 2019 Goes Global

Posted by Steve Emecz on

Saturday 25th May saw The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate 2019 take place at the former home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Undershaw.

The debate saw thirteen Holmes experts represent a major Holmes adaptation. The question the debate asked was 'Did they go too far?'. First up was Bonnie MacBird who had the enviable role of championing Jeremy Brett and the Granada adaptation. At the other end of the spectrum, Mattias Bostrom took on 'Holmes and Watson' with Will Ferrell.

The thirteen panelists dialled in from the USA, UK, Sweden and India using technology provided by one of the sponsors, Zoom.

The evening was rounded off with a live performance from 'The Deductionist' Ben Cardall.

The evening was a lot of fun and importantly raised funds for Stepping Stones School and Happy Life Children's Home - the two main MX Publishing charities.

Fans can take part in The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate Vote until the 31st May for a chance to win $50 of Sherlock Holmes books of their choice.

The evening was also supported by The Baker Street Babes, The Sherlock Holmes Society of London and The Conan Doyle Estate
