The Art of Sherlock Holmes Artist 17 - Aaron Schwartz

The Artist

Aaron Schwartz is a South Florida native born and raised in Miami. His medium can be best described as ink painting on photography.

This is not “Photoshopping”. Aaron has mastered his own technique combining Ink, markers, and chemical solvents that dissolve the photo emultion.

What makes Aaron’s work so unique is not only the unorthodox use of materials, but the idea of what a photograph can become. Sometimes this can change the meaning of an image. Each photo is its own painting, but combined with other photos, he is able to create a “mosaic” masterpiece.

For the Art of Sherlock Holmes project we interviewed Aaron:

The Story

Aaron's piece for The Art of Sherlock Holmes USA Edition is based on a story called 'The Adventure of the Pharaoh’s Tablet' by Robert Perret - which has also been released as a stunning authenticated print by the Conan Doyle Estate:
