The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories - Volumes XXXI-XXXIII is currently running on Kickstarter and we're interviewing the contributors. Next up is Joshua Cerefice.
Please tell us a little bit about yourself, and your story.
I’m Josh, I’m twenty-seven years old and I live in beautiful North Wales with my mum, dad and older brother. My story, The Adventure of the Impudent Imposter, is about a wealthy tobacco merchant called Emerson Crockford who returns to London after nearly three decades abroad to discover that a stranger is pretending to be him. Who is this man? And why is he impersonating Mr Crockford?
Why did you want to participate in this project?
I love reading Sherlock Holmes stories (both Doyle’s and the many great pastiches out there), so I wanted to challenge myself by writing one of my own. I also thought it would be cool to be part of the ever-growing world of Holmes, albeit a small one.
What are your current and upcoming projects?
I’m currently working on another Holmes story about a champion chess player who is poisoned during a match. Holmes must work out how the killer did it when she was sat in the audience the entire time.
