Sherlock Book Reviews - East Wind Coming

Sherlock Holmes Society of London “The Shoso-in Bulletin, published in English between 1991 and 2004, was the most truly international Holmesian periodical of all. It was founded by our distinguished Japanese member Hirayama Yuichi, whose own contributions alone justified the Bulletin’s existence. East Wind Coming: A Sherlockian Study Book by Yuichi Hirayama and John Hall gathers twenty-eight of Dr Hirayama’s essays, from The Shoso-in Bulletin, The Baker Street Journal, The Ritual and elsewhere, along with four written jointly with a leading English Holmesian, John Hall. Book Reviews - Sherlock Holmes and the Horror of Frankenstein

I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere Holmesian pastiche is rife with mashups, especially the literary kind. Hoping to generate a strong story, authors frequently pair Holmes and Watson with other characters and historical figures to create unique tales that might not fit regular canon. Sherlock Holmes and the Horror of Frankenstein, written by Luke Benjamen Kuhns and drawn by Marcie Klinger is an exceptional mix of horror and detection that is well worth reading. Sherlock Holmes in the World of Jules Verne - Review of Sherlock Holmes in the Nautilus Adventure

Ravens Reviews “…Once again, Joseph W Svec, III takes us (and Holmes and Watson) deep into another fictional world that somehow manages to be real. All of the scenes that excite the reader from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, such as the giant squid, are here in this exciting tale. While showing us the wonders of the Nautilus, and delighting us with Luna the Mermaid, Svec manages to also produce a challenging mystery! I am also pleased to see that the teaser at the end of the book promises more adventures, perhaps at Camelot! I gladly give this amazing book...

Book Reviews of The Lost World – An Arthur Conan Doyle Graphic Novel

Raven's Reviews “…The tremendous novel that introduces the reader to Professor George Edward Challenger—brilliant, apelike, powerfully muscled, and short tempered—is recreated here in this graphic novel. The artwork is whimsical, but the story for the most part goes along with the book. There will be a twist or two that may surprise the reader, but trust me, they are great! I enjoyed the original novel (a reprint, of course!) and this graphic novel is a joy to read. I will give this GN five stars. Petr Kopl has other graphic novels available, and I hope to read them all”   ...

Book Reviews - Imogene and the Case of The Missing Pearls

Barbara Mariconda  “Sherlock Holmes finds a plucky protégé in Imogene! The story is a true Victorian whodunit, our young heroine surrounded by a list of colorful suspects – her conniving cousin, a temperamental governess, the elderly butler, to name a few. Readers will love tracking down clues, collecting evidence alongside Imogene, and will cheer when the handcuffs are placed on the unlikely culprit. An engaging mystery for young readers!”Barbara Mariconda (The Voyage of Lucy P. Simmons)Edgar winner and National Book Award finalist David Marcum “There are a lot of Sherlock Holmes books written for kids. This really excellent volume does...
