Sherlockian Interview - Tom Turley

Posted by Steve Emecz on

To celebrate the Kickstarter for Volumes 46-48 of the MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories we're interview the contributors.

Today it's Tom Turley.

Tell us a little about yourself – Where you live and your main hobbies.

I live with my wife Paula, and our two dogs, Bobbie and Keisha, in Montgomery, Alabama. We have two grown children, Catherine and Bryan, and a granddaughter, Maya. Besides writing, my hobbies include hiking, ship modeling, and volunteering with our church's Archives and History group.

What’s the name of your story in this collection, and what is it about (with no spoilers)?

My story, "The Last False Step" in Part XLVI of the anthology, follows Rodger Baskerville (a.k.a. Jack Stapleton) as he flees from justice after the demise of the Hound. It's a sort of prequel to a Dartmoor-related novel I intend to write in the future.

What other projects have you recently completed that we can check out?

MX Publishing has published my two previous collections, Sherlock Holmes and the Crowned Heads of Europe (2021) and Watson's Wives and Other Tales of Sherlock Holmes (2023). The first comprises four historical novellas documenting Holmes and Watson's involvement in the events leading up to World War I. Most, but not all, of Watson's Wives' short stories focus on those three ladies. Both books are available from Amazon and MX Publishing. Audio versions of the individual stories in Crowned Heads are available from Audible, and an Audible version of Watson's Wives should be coming soon.
