May turned out to be a very rare month with three Sherlock Holmes novels making the top five. The rest of the Top 25 is still dominated by short story collections but one new novel (from Tony Boyle) and both Ken Courtenay novels made the top of the list. William P Defeo's second short story collection topped the chart again and as far as overall 2026 sales to date is concerned its miles ahead. The competition is hotting up in May in the Sherlock Holmes Audiobook Chart with one of the top Sherlock Holmes short story anthologies just holding off a new collection. Bucking the long term trend of short story collections dominating, three novels are currently in the top 5 - something that hasn't happened for several years. Another record month in Sherlock Holmes audiobook sales and just three novels make the top 25 with short story collections proving ever popular. Bill Defeo had a wonderful month with his two collections at number 1 and 4 - fans will be pleased to know Bill is close to completing his 3rd collection which will come out in time for Christmas.
