The Art of Sherlock Holmes West Palm Beach Edition
“This big, handsome book is the realisation of Mr Growick’s plan to commission an illustration each from painters in his home city of West Palm Beach, Florida for fifteen new Sherlock Holmes stories. Some of the authors’ names are reassuringly familiar: Mike Hogan, David Marcum, Mark Mower, Denis Smith, Daniel Victor and others. The artists, whose styles include "abstract, contemporary, digital, realist, minimalist, symbolism, or an amalgam of various forms", were all unknown to me, but I’ll be looking out for more work by some of them, at least.
Full-colour prints are available from the Conan Doyle Estate Ltd at $35.00 each: https://shop. conandoyleestate.com . A share of the proceeds from the book and the prints goes to Stepping Stones School at Undershaw, and charities in West Palm Beach and Nairobi.”
