Author Interviews Published.  More On The Way

Will Murray has three stories in these volumes but the most unusual is called “The Weird Adventure of the Particular Phantom."

"A London particular" is a Victorian term for a certain kind of thick London fog. In this story, Inspector Lestrade comes to Sherlock Holmes with a vexing problem. During recent foggy nights, a towering man-like figure was seen striding about, nearly invisible in the fog, stealing men's hats and women's purses.

Margaret Walsh's story is called "The Mystery of the Major's Music Box". It is about a mysteriously appearing music box and the havoc that has resulted.

Joseph Svec has his eighth contribution to the MX Anthology series, and is in the first volume of this year’s books, the rhymed and metered story poem, “Sherlock Holmes”. It is a salute to Sherlock Holmes, inspired by the sea shanty, “The Sailors Alphabet.”

Paul Hiscock's story is "The Ghost of Mycroft Holmes", which appears in volume 48. Mycroft's friends and colleagues gather to mourn his death.

Brenda Seabrooke has two stories in the collection "A Penny for the Guy" involves the beginning of that bombastic English holiday Guy Fawkes Day and one of the Baker Street Irregulers. "The Boarding House Adventure" begins with the murder of an innocuous boarder who collects stamps.

Victoria Weisfeld's story is in part XLVII and is “The Widow’s Pique” in which Holmes and Watson set out to help Mrs. Hudson, distressed at the mysterious illness of her cousin. Holmes is often engaged in some abstruse area of study—in this case, it’s the manufacture of cotton cloth.

Tom Turley's story "The Last False Step" in Part XLVI of the anthology, follows Rodger Baskerville (a.k.a. Jack Stapleton) as he flees from justice after the demise of the Hound.

Naching Kassa has a story called, "The Case of the Benevolent Professor." In it, Sherlock Holmes must solve the disappearance of a missing acquaintance. It's a strange and surprising story. Naching also writes stories for Occult Detective Magazine so expect the unexpected - but within David Marcum's tight canonical guidelines.

Tim Newton Anderson's story is "The Georgian Dragon". Holmes has been contacted by an aristocrat whose family have looked after the sculpture of a dragon commissioned by George IV after he went to them to deal with his debts.

David Marcum - the creator and editor of the MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories has three tales in the collection, one in each volume. David has now edited more Sherlock Holmes pastiches than any other editor, ever. He's also written more than anyone else - with over 100 completed. Publishers Weekly referes to David (and Denis Smith) as the leading short story pastiche writers out there.

David MacGregor has a story in this collection called "The Adventure of the Scottish Coffins," in which Holmes and Watson investigate the appearance of a mysterious find hidden inside a cave on Arthur's Seat, which is just outside of Edinburgh
