Sherlockian Interview - Joseph Svec

To celebrate the Kickstarter for Volumes 46-48 of the MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories we're interview the contributors.
Today it's Joseph Svec.
Tell us a little about yourself – Where you live and your main hobbies.
My name is Joseph. I have lived on a forty-foot cruising yacht in San Francisco Bay, in a cabin in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, on a ten-acre vineyard, and I currently live in the shadow of a castle in the California Gold Country, with my wonderful wife of fifty-one years, and several long coat German Shepherd dogs. In addition to writing, gardening, travel, and afternoon tea, my favorite hobby is creating miniature dioramas based on history, myth, literature, classical music, and pure imagination. I currently have fifty-seven dioramas set up in my display areas, with fifteen of them based on works of literature including stories by Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, C.S Lewis, and others. I am particularly pleased to also have a diorama based on my book, “Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Grinning Cat, a crossover story that takes Holes and Watson into the world of Alice in Wonderland. The scene depicts Holmes and Watson in the courtyard of the Queen of Hearts, just before she challenges Sherlock to a game of imaginary croquet, with the fate of the lives depending on the outcome. (Being an expert on almost everything, Sherlock has it all under control.).
What’s the name of your story in this collection, and what is it about (with no spoilers)?
This is my eighth contribution to the MX Anthology series, and is in the first volume of this year’s books, the rhymed and metered story poem, “Sherlock Holmes”. It is a salute to Sherlock Holmes, inspired by the sea shanty, “The Sailors Alphabet.”
What other projects have you recently completed that we can check out?
I would also like to like to mention my Sherlock Holmes and the Missing Authors Trilogy, in which famous literary authors have gone missing, and it is the characters from their books that turn up at 221-b to engage Sherlock Holmes to locate the missing authors.
The books are:
Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Grinning Cat
Sherlock Holmes in the Nautilus Adventure
Sherlock Holmes and the Round Table Adventure
The trilogy was followed by a transitional story, Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the First Unicorn, in which Sherlock must determine what ever became of the very first unicorn to appear on the planet.
I have also published the illustrated rhymed and metered story poem, “The Night Before Christmas in 221-b”, a retelling of the classic “A Visit From Saint Nick” poem, from the perspective of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.
My first book in the Missing Scientist trilogy is currently in work.
