Top 25 Sherlock Holmes books in Print so far in 2026

Whilst the biggest format these days is audio, our favourite format remains print and its wonderful to see that hardcovers feature strongly in this year's top 25. It's fitting that the world's most prolific Sherlock Holmes pastiche editor and writer, David Marcum, is at the top of the chart with his latest collection.

The chart is mostly new releases from 2026 - but there are some old favourites in there including the two books about one of the greatest actors to have ever played Holmes - Jeremy Brett Playing A Part and the extract focussing purely on Holmes - Jeremy Brett is Sherlock Holmes. Peter Bevelin's classic A Few Lessons From Sherlock Holmes also appears on the bestseller list every year.
