Sherlock Book Reviews - The Infinitely Stranger Cases of Sherlock Holmes – Paula Hammond
Publié par Steve Emecz le
David Marcum Paula Hammond is one of my favorite Holmes Pasticheurs. It turns out that she’s written a lot of other stuff, but of late much of her attention has been turned toward Mr. Holmes – to the great satisfaction of those who appreciate a good Holmes adventure. She has contributed a number of Holmes tales to “The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories”, as well as other recent Holmes anthologies, and this latest volume collects six amazing narratives. My personal favorite is “The Ghazi Genie” – not quite a typical story, as Holmes and Watson, delayed on a...

Four of our audiobooks were picked for the Audible autumn sale which propelled them all into the top 5. The additional book to make the top five was Paula Hammond's second short story collection - The Infinitely Stranger Cases of Sherlock Holmes which is already getting rave reviews. Richard Ryan's 'Poisoned Pawn' rounds out the top five. Mark Ellis's epic mammoth novel 221B On Her Majesty's Secret Service comes in at number 6 as another new book. It was a good month for novels with JG Grimmer's dark tale 'In The Shadow Of The Swastika' making number 11 - despite...

August might traditionally be a quiet month in print, but for audiobooks it was one of the largest on record. Our Top 25 has a very different feel from previous months with the release of nine Kindle Unlimited short stories in audio that make up half of the top 10 in their first month (from the Discoveries of Sherlock Holmes series). Those aside it was another strong month for new releases with #1, #2, #6 and #10 in the chart all recent books. A strong showing for short story collections again but Matt Simmond’s second book Sherlock Holmes and The Adventure of The...
