Thank Holmes It's Friday - May 1st - The Great Hiatus

It is that time again! Thank Holmes It's Friday. While we’re gearing up for the weekend, it’s worth noting that on this very day—Friday, May 1, 1891—Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson reached Geneva. This marked the beginning of the final, fateful stretch of their journey toward the Reichenbach Falls in The Adventure of the Final Problem.

It was the start of the "Great Hiatus," a three-year period where the world was left without any new adventures from Baker Street.

At MX Publishing, our mission is to make sure that never happens again. We are dedicated to keeping the world of Sherlock Holmes alive with new stories, and today we’ve curated a special collection focused on that famous journey and the years that followed —and we are offering a 3-for-2 deal across the entire range.

The "Great Hiatus" 3-for-2 Collection

Keeping the Stories Alive: New Projects

At MX Publishing, our mission is to ensure the Great Detective’s stories never end by bringing world-class authors and new Holmesian chronicles to life.

The world of Sherlock Holmes has never been bigger. In the last 12 months, we have released over 40 new titles, many of which began their journey on Kickstarter. When you back these kickstarter projects, you aren’t just buying a book—you are the vital engine behind the genre, ensuring there is always a fresh mystery on the horizon. Be the first to step into our two latest investigations:

Sherlock Holmes and The Man Who Believed in Fairies

What if Holmes’ greatest enemy wasn’t a criminal mastermind, but his own creator? In this deeply personal battle of intellects, F.R. Maher pits a retired Holmes against Sir Arthur Conan Doyle—the true architect of the detective's past. When Doyle champions photographic "proof" of fairies, reason clashes with belief in a standoff where neither man is willing to yield.

The Clockmaker’s Bequest – A Sherlock Holmes Mystery

In this atmospheric mystery, Edward Gillow draws Holmes and Watson into a web of death that begins in a Clerkenwell clockmaker's workshop. When a master horologist is found dead at his workbench, the duo must decode the secrets hidden within a cryptic, numeral-less clock before a third murder is committed and a dark legacy destroys everything in its path.
