The author has served as judge on the Connecticut Probate Court bench and is an attorney licensed in New York and Connecticut.  In addition to his legal career, Judge DeFeo has taught legal writing as Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Connecticut State University and has been honored with "Professor Emeritus" status.  His published works include two editions of a college-level English grammar textbook, and two volumes of elite Sherlock Holmes short stories.  He is married, has three children and five grandchildren, and lives along the shores of beautiful Lake Candlewood in Western Connecticut.
