The Top 25 Bestselling Sherlock Holmes Audiobooks - August 2025

August might traditionally be a quiet month in print, but for audiobooks it was one of the largest on record. Our Top 25 has a very different feel from previous months with the release of nine Kindle Unlimited short stories in audio that make up half of the top 10 in their first month (from the Discoveries of Sherlock Holmes series). Those aside it was another strong month for new releases with #1, #2, #6 and #10 in the chart all recent books. A strong showing for short story collections again but Matt Simmond’s second book Sherlock Holmes and The Adventure of The Found Note is the highest placed novel in 2025.
Geoff Finch’s - The Uncollected Cases of Sherlock Homes has garnered 31 Amazon reviews already with an average rating of 4.4. and the word ‘authentic’ coming up many times from readers praising Geoff’s very traditional style. This is a common theme amongst the bestselling audiobooks. The two top selling collections of 2025 to date - The Further Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (Caiden Myles) and The Six-Thirteen from Fairfield Junction and Other Cases of Sherlock Holmes (Denis Smith) are similarly true to the Conan Doyle originals. It’s clear what fans want - more traditional stories.
