The Sherlockian Interview - Dan Rowley
Posted by Steve Emecz on
The final four volumes (49-52) of The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories are now on Kickstarter (click here). Every day we will be featuring one of the authors in the collection. Today its Dan Rowley.
What’s the name of your story in the collection?
I have two stories. The adventure of the amnesiac. The interrupted retirements.
How did the story come about?
The first story came from a collaboration with my dear friend Don Baxter. We decided to do a twist on the hoary tale of someone who can’t know what happened. The second I did alone to honor David’s decision to “retire” from the series and to do a musical themed story.
Have you contributed to anthologies before?
I have. This anthology has my 16th and 17th stories.
Where did you first discover Holmes?
When I was in my teens I read them with my Dad.
Are there any writers/adaptations of Holmes you particularly enjoy?
I have a wide collection of stories. Can’t say I have one particular favorite, although if forced to pick David Marcum.
Do you write on any other subjects?
Not in fiction.
Where can fans find more about your work?
