The Sherlockian Interview - David MacGregor

Posted by Steve Emecz on

The final four volumes (49-52) of The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories are now on Kickstarter (click here). Every day we will be featuring one of the authors in the collection. Today its David MacGregor.

What’s the name of your story in the collection?

Murder in Grasmere

How did the story come about?

I like the idea of getting Holmes and Watson out of London, and having visited Grasmere in England's Lake District, it struck me as the perfect place for a brutal murder.

Have you contributed to anthologies before?

Yes.

Where did you first discover Holmes?

In The Complete Sherlock Holmes, purchased at a library book sale many moons ago.

Are there any writers/adaptations of Holmes you particularly enjoy?

Yes! David Marcum, Richard Ryan, Vince Stadon, and Orlando Pearson, to name just a few.

Do you write on any other subjects?

Yes! I am principally a playwright, with topics ranging from the madness of Isaac Newton, to blue dart tree frogs, to an everyday chap who may or may not be the Antichrist.
