To celebrate the Kickstarter for Volumes 46-48 of the MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories we're interview the contributors.
Today it's DJ Tyrer.
Tell us a little about yourself – Where you live and your main hobbies.
I studied History and Welsh History at the University of Wales at Aberystwyth. I live in the seaside city of Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England, close to the world’s longest pleasure pier. When I’m not writing, my hobbies and interests include history, roleplaying, wargaming, and conlanging.
What’s the name of your story in this collection, and what is it about (with no spoilers)?
My story is called The Neckinger Mills Mystery and sees Holmes investigating when Inspector Bradstreet is assaulted whilst investigating a smuggling gang, seeking both to bring his attackers to justice and crack the mystery that brought him to Neckinger Mills in Southwark.

What other projects have you recently completed that we can check out?
Amongst my most-recent published stories are an occult detective tale, Things Can Only Get Worse, in Beneath the Yellow Lights (Oddity Prodigy Productions, LLC), and a piratical adventure, Sting of the Schorpioen, in The Black Beacon Book of Pirates (Black Beacon Books).
I also had a mystery, A Generous Helping of Deceit, in The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Part XLIV: 2024 Annual (1889-1897), earlier this year.
