Sherlockian Author Profile - Richard Ryan
A lifelong Sherlockian, Richard Ryan is the author of several Sherlock Holmes Novels - “The Vatican Cameos” and “The Stone of Destiny” “The Druid of Death,” “The Merchant of Menace” , “Through a Glass Starkly” , “Three May Keep A Secret” , "The Poisoned Pawn" , "The Devil's Disciples" and now "The Traitorous Templar".
Among his other credits are “The Official Sherlock Holmes Trivia Book", a book on Agatha Christie trivia and the well-received murder mystery “Deadly Relations” that has been produced twice off-Broadway. He pursued his graduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, where he majored in medieval literature. To this day, he remains a die-hard fan of the Fighting Irish.
An avid reader, he grew up devouring the mysteries of John Dickson Carr, Agatha Christie and others of that ilk. He has been involved with newspapers and magazines for nearly 40 years and has spent the better part of the last three decades working for the Staten Island Advance in a variety of editorial capacities. He retired in July 2017. During his years at the Advance, he penned two nationally syndicated columns, and his work has appeared in papers all across America.
