Sherlockian Author Profile - Martin Daley
Martin Daley, the Carlisle born author has been writing for over thirty years. His
works range from subjects as diverse as period detective novels to social or sporting
history. The common theme that runs through most of Martin's books however, is
Cumbria in general and his home city of Carlisle in particular.
In 2010 he created Inspector Cornelius Armstrong, who carries out his police work
against a backdrop of Edwardian Carlisle. With the publication of the first Inspector
Armstrong Casebook, Martin became a member of the Crime Writers's Association.
He lives with his wife Wendy, in South West Scotland. For more information visit
